Infrastructure for coding agentsYour coding agent needs a backend. Backends gives it one.
Databases, Redis, object storage and auth, provisioned on demand by your coding agent. No Docker Compose. No console clicking.

Why Backends
Let agents build. Don't make them babysit infrastructure.
An agent can write your app in an afternoon, then stall on a database it can't create. Backends removes that wall.

Agent-first
One request. A database it can use.
- The agent askswith the project's secret key. No human in the loop.
- Backends provisionsa dedicated Postgres database and its own user.
- The agent keeps buildingThe connection string goes into
.envasDATABASE_URL.
It already works this way. For doughnut, an app running on Backends, Claude Code read the storage manifest and wrote the integration on its own.

Human control
Agents do the work. You stay in control.
